We arrived at Dubai International airport T3 at 9:45 p.m. and thereafter took the metro to Al Fahidi station where our hotel, Regal Plaza is just in-front of it. We had stayed here before and due to the proximity of Al Fahidi to the hotel which is literally steps away is why we stayed here again. As we have known the hotel has a disco, we have booked on higher floor, 6th and above is alright. We were given room 702 and to our amazement, this room is B-I-G. Since we have been on the road for more than three weeks, being very tired and Dubai is our last leg, this room is god sent.

Our Emirates flight departs Istanbul Ataturk at 4:30 p.m. for Dubai. This is our 2nd time visiting Dubai but the 1st disembarking at Dubai airport itself. Previously we had landed in Abu Dhabi and then taken a courtesy bus to Dubai.
This is the new Dubai airport and similar to any other major airport, it’s huge and spacious thus making it comfortable to walk around or window shop. As expected with a new building, Dubai airport was glittering from floor to the metal panels.
Upon arrival, we had to take a shuttle train to the arrival concourse. Immigration was quick but we had to wait for some time for our baggage at the carousel. One word of caution, the baggage trolley retains static electricity and at certain times you can actually hear a ‘buzz’ when you touch the trolley’s metal parts. When this happens, you’ll feel a biting sensation to your hands. This happens both at arrival and departure.

This segment of post are on more pictures of the miniature buildings found in Miniaturk. Most of the miniature buildings have incredible details just like the real ones. It took us slightly more than an hour to go around Miniaturk. Although the day was bright and sunny, the temperature was around 18°. Nice weather.
For our return transportation to Sultanahmet, we choose the bus. It’s convenient as there is a bus stand in-front of Miniaturk. It’ll take about 40 minutes to reach Eminonu. Choose any of the #47 bus to Eminonu and then take a tram to Sultanahmet. Miniaturk brings an end to our holiday in Turkey as tomorrow we leave Istanbul for Dubai.
