The last attraction on the final day in Paris is a visit to Montparnasse Tower which is situated above the vicinity of Gare Montparnasse (Train Station). Taking the metro, we got-off at the Montparnasse–Bienvenue metro station within the station complex. A short walk out of the station will take you to the tower. It’s easy to find …. its the 2nd tallest building in Paris.
The tower consists of a 210m office skyscraper, and access to the viewing decks is via a dedicated lift through a separate side entrance. A high speed lift will take you up to the 56th floor in 38 seconds. As this tower is a lesser known attraction, there is almost no waiting time for the lift if you have made advanced ticket purchase.
There are two floors of viewing deck. The Panoramic floor (56th) is a fully enclised viewing floor with a restaurant. The other is an open air Rooftop Terrace (59th) accessible via staircase. From the rooftop, you’ll get unobstructed view of the Eiffel Tower as well as a 360° view of Paris. By line of sight, both towers are ±3.5km apart. Tickets for the rooftop can be purchased online here.
