Very early in the morning of our 4th day in Osaka, the 8th in Japan, we will be catching the Airport Limousine bus to Itami Airport for our flight to Haneda, Tokyo. We decided to fly as the air fare is much cheaper than a Shinkansen ticket at ¥7,485 against ¥13,620. Our chosen departure airport is Itami instead of Kansai as Itami is much closer to Namba as it takes less than 25 minutes to reach.
From Red Roof Plus hotel, we walked across the street over to BIC Camera to take a taxi at the taxi stand to Hotel Echiei where the Airport Limousine bus stop is located. It’s just a few minutes ride and cost about ¥650. This saves us the hassle of setting our GPS to navigate the back alleys if we decided to walk. Even if we did, the walk to the Limousine Bus stop, shouldn’t be more than 15 minutes at a leisurely pace.
The Airport Limousine bus stop is directly in-front of the entrance to Hotel Echiei. To the bus company, this stop is referred to as ‘Namba Station’. The bus will stop to pick up passengers and leave right away, it will not wait. There are at least 2 buses per hour and as many as 5 during peak hours.
Tickets can be purchased from the ticket machine behind the bus stop that is against the wall of the hotel. It will cost ¥640 for adults and ¥320 for child. There is no way you can purchase an advanced ticket, as it can only be purchased through the ticket machine. The ticket machine only dispense ticket for the day and it’s an open ticket for that particular day only. Technically speaking, you can purchase an advanced ticket for the same day for a ride later. You purchase a ticket in the morning for a ride later at night for example.
You will have the option to get-off the bus at Itami South or North terminal. It doesn’t matter if you got-off at the wrong terminal, it’s just a matter of you having to walk a fair bit of distance between the two inter-connected terminals. We got-off at the first stop (south terminal) for our ANA flight to HND.
