We end our 2nd day road trip by checking into Harbourside Motel after a journey of some 415km. The motel is located on Frenchman Bay road, the same road we took earlier to reach The Gap, Natural Bridge & the Wind Farm. It’s sort of back trekking to town.
It’s in a quiet location away from the city centre but conveniently near if you have a car. This motel is less than 5 minutes drive to York Street (town center) but definitely not within walking distance. It’s a small motel with ample parking bays.
From the moment we entered the room, there was a feeling of comfort. Our Deluxe room was large and clean with comfortable queen size bed with clean linen. There was an additional single bed in the room which was not requested for but still roomy for us to walk about. We had plenty of towels, extra blankets and pillows.
The room has a flat screen CTV, air-cond/heater, microwave, mini fridge, toaster & kettle. As this room is handicap friendly, the kitchenette, sink, electric frypan, cutlery and crockery were kept in a cabinet in a section of the bathroom. A bit odd, but serves the needs for handicaps.
The rear sliding door opens up to a small patio with great view and access to a lush green lawn. Chairs and a table at the patio allows you to have breakfast or tea outside the room.

The lawn accessible via a sliding door to a patio. Table and chairs to have your breakfast or evening tea.
For Muslim guest, you can get halal meal at Istanbul Kebab & Turkish Bakery at 189, York Street. It’s about a 5 minutes drive from the motel. They serves delicious kebab and opens everyday from 9:30 a.m.
