Margaret River’s coast is a location renowned worldwide for its surf breaks and of course surfing. Visiting this location, you’ll first reach Surfers Point on Prevelly beach and 650m ahead is the Margaret River Mouth. Surfers Point is about 4km off the junction of Cave Road which is a mere 5 minutes drive away.
Surfers Point, on Prevelly beach is the number one surfing location in Margaret River to spot & watch surfers handle the Indian Ocean waves. It also has top-notch facilities for both surfers and spectators. Large car parks and tiered grassy areas make this a wonderful place to visit and view the waves and the surfers riding them.
Margaret River flows gracefully through the hillside and out onto the beach, another popular surfing location just north of Surfers Point. Where the Indian Ocean and Margaret River meet, is the river mouth though nothing outstanding, the beach around the river mouth is spectacular. The natural beauty of the river mouth is great. There is a wonderful lookout area with wooden platforms for viewing the river mouth and surfers on the waves. The river mouth is complete with showers, toilets as well is changing facilities.
Stunning photos can be taken at both locations. Surfers and non-surfes alike will appreciate the natural estuary where the river meets the ocean. Great site to see the river meeting the ocean. Lookout provides great views up and down the coast.
