Obtaining halal food in Perth is not difficult. There are many restaurants to choose from. By coincidence, Pensione Hotel where we stayed has several halal restaurants nearby. Middle Eastern restaurant Sahara, is just a couple of doors from our hotel on Pier street. A little further down, you’ll find a Malaysian cafe, Love & Care. Two more Malaysian restaurants are close-by namely D’Angkasa on Hay street and Insan’s Cafe on Murray street. Of course there were several more we noticed but not sure the exact location.
A little further away, still within walking distance, you’ll find Labanese restaurant Levant on Barrack street and Ispa Kebabs on William street close to the Perth Underground.
Else, if you are shopping at Watertown Outlet Centre, there are two halal outlets on the ground floor. Another branch of Ispa Kebabs can be found here and a Turkish stall specialising in flatbread and pastry is there as well.
Much further away from CBD, at Lakeside Joondalup mall, there are two halal eateries on the ground floor food court. They are side-by-side one selling Kebabs and the other Indian dishes.
The best for last …. Charcoal Chicken Express Dianella located at 100, Grand Promenade Dianella, 6156 Perth is about 9km from CBD. Me and wife who are not fond of lamb (probably eating once a year), were blown away with their BBQ lamb ribs. Just fantastic and delicious. Now back in our country, we continued eating lamb but none of our local dishes match Charcoal Chicken Dianella so far. If you don’t eat lamb, they also serves chicken as the name suggest. .

Biriyani rice, salad and ½ ribs. Initially thinking it’s too much for the two of us, eventually we cleared the plate.
