Quick links : Bus to Pierre Loti Teleferik
Today we have two places of interest to visit. Firstly is Pierre Loti, famous for its spectacular views over the Golden Horn. It is located in Eyup, about 6 kilometers from the Galata Bridge. To get there we took the tram from Sultanahmet and got off at Eminonu and then changed to a bus at the open-air bus station nearby.
You can take bus nos. 36CE, 44B or 99 (there are more) from Eminonu to Teleferik bus stop and the same to return to Eminonu. The only difference is the return route to Eminonu these different buses will take. Some may cross over to Galata side before reaching Eminonu. But eventually you’ll reach Eminonu. Once on the bus, you would want to get down at Teleferik bus stop. It’s about the 10th (please check) stop from Eminonu.
A cable car will take you up to Pierre Loti hill-top and the cable car station is just across the road from the Teleferik bus stop. The cable car ride is just a couple of minutes as the hill-top is only 55 meters above sea level. You also have a choice to walk up to the hill-top.

We’ve came to Pierre Loti for the views and that’s about all you get here. There is a well-known cafe you would want to enjoy your coffee or tea and the views of Golden Horn and the Halic bridge across it. There are also a few souvenir shops up the hill-top. Thereafter, if you’re still energetic enough, you can walk down to the cable car station instead. If you are on a tight schedule, you may want to skip this point of interest as it takes up a good portion of your time.
