Covent Garden

Day 11 – Covent Garden, London, England

April 2015

The last attraction before we leave London for Paris is a visit to Covent Garden. No garden here but it offers a wide range of shopping, theatre, restaurants, hotels, and cultural events. From Embankment, we changed line at Leicester Square and onwards to Covent Garden. Please be informed until November 2015, Covent Garden underground is exit only due to station upgrading works. For your return trip, you’ll need to take the Leicester Square or Holborn underground.

Trafalgar Square

Day 11 – Trafalgar Square, London, England

April 2015

From Victoria Embankment Gardens, we walked towards London Charing Cross train station. Once in-front of it, we’re able to see Nelson’s column looming. Nelson’s Column is in Trafalgar Square and is a monument erected in remembrance of Admiral Nelson, who died in the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805.

Trafalgar Square is a public space and tourist attraction in central London. Many may not notice or know Britain’s smallest police station is located at one corner of it. London’s secret in the open yet many passed by unaware.

Day 11 – Victoria Embankment Gardens, London, England

April 2015

Day 11, our final day in London. We are off to Trafalgar Square by the underground from Paddington getting off at Embankment underground. From here you need to walk a short distance to London Charing Cross train station to reach Trafalgar Square.

As we exited Embankment underground walking towards Charing Cross, to our right by chance we stumbled upon Victoria Embankment Gardens. You need to be aware otherwise you may just miss it as we had prior to today as the garden does not have any fancy entrance. A small quiet spot facing river Thames (can’t see though), nice to sit on the benches and relax away.
