Grand Mosque, Paris

Day 14 – Grand Mosque, Paris, France

Our next place of visit is the Grand Mosque of Paris. You’ll need to take the metro to Place Monge. April 2015

As you exit the stop via the escalator, to your right is the morning market and straight ahead is a pharmacy. Cross the street to the pharmacy, walk to the end of the block (about 5 shop lots or so) until you reach a junction. Turn left and upon crossing the street, you be able to notice the minaret of the mosque.

This area has a few halal restaurants if you care to walk around. There is a Moroccan restaurant at one corner of the mosque but is pack during lunch time. Be warned, the menu prices is a little steep.

The Grillades Cafe as marked on the map above serves halal food. It was surprising to see a note on the glass in our national language – ‘Selamat Datang, Makanan Halal’ – Welcome, halal food.

Centre Pompidou

Day 14 – Centre Pompidou, Paris, France

April 2015

Today is our final day in Paris and first on our itinerary is a visit to the Centre Pompidou. It is a multicultural complex, bringing together in one place different forms of art and literature. It has a vast library, houses the Museum of Modern Art and is a centre for music and acoustic research.

We reached Centre Pompidou by getting-off at the Rambuteau metro stop. I’m attracted to this building for it looks which is more like an oil refinery and is painted in multi colors. Anything with many colors attract me.

April 2015

After coming down from the Eiffel Tower, we took a river cruise along river Seine. There are a number of cruise operators at the bank of river Seine just next to Eiffel Tower. A typical cruise of an hour cost €15 and we sailed past a number of Paris landmarks. This is the end of our itinerary today.
